Experimental Envoy armor is an ascended armor set rewarded for completing Envoy Armor I: Experimental Armor achievement, a choice from the Chest of Experimental Armor . This armor is not the final precursor used for crafting Perfected Envoy legendary armor but a standalone free ascended armor set. Choosing this armor's weight class will Bers, condi , ham/hamtank, some diviners pieces/ (trinkets or armor) + a special set for whatever. Power always having the upside of not needing runeswapping. Same goes for ham/druid. If you dislike ranger/thief then legendary medium loses value if you would actually play different playstyles of another weight class. Long-term, its more cost- and time-effective to make a single Legendary armor set for example, than many Ascended. But this mostly applies to players with alts; if you only play a few characters Ascended is always going to be the better choice, especially if they're of different armor weights. Edited September 2, 2021 by Hannelore.8153 All Ascended Equipment are only account bound and no piece is soulbound, that means you can "share" your ascended gear with any character, and, in the case of Ascended Armor, only characters can equip them with the equivalent armor weight type. Simply ascended weaponry gives a very noticeable boost. The stat boosts are decent, remember to include the infusion in your math. If dual-wielding, you'll find your main hand weapon is likely worth the most, as those skills more often tend to do damage and there are three of them. If two-handed, even better. Yes you pick soldiers for example from chest then craft a viper exotic insignia you can stat change it in the mystic forge with said soldier armor piece and the exotic viper insignia +2 more things and it becomes a viper armor. Pseudo stat reset. Infusing an Ascended ring or back item that has selectable stats will "reset" the item, allowing you to choose a different set of stats. This method is only possible once per ring or back item. Likewise, attuning an Ascended ring will allow you to do the same thing. Also only possible once. It can pull 15k DPS without breaking a sweat and you can provide very respectable heals. Honestly only downside is it's guaranteed to pull aggro in group play due to super high toughness. Added bonus to crafting ascended celestial is that the other two heavy armor classes can make good use of it as well. tldr: Celestial is great on Guardian and As far as crafting, yes those are the two ways. Method 1 is the basic craft the item approach and is most often the most gold expensive one. Method 2 is cheaper but requires content specific materials (fractals, WvW or spvp). It is designed to allow people to acquire ascended gear at a lower gold cost in favor of other materials. .
